Five centuries ago, at the court of the Emperor of China, lived an artisan of exquisite craftsmanship. His name was Khan. His mechanical fish swam in the Imperial pond, and his metallic butterflies flittered among the flowers in the Imperial garden. One day he disappeared and did not return. Some say he obtained the gold pill of immortality from the ancient Master of Demon Valley. Through the many succeeding dynasties, sporadic reports of his appearance have been recorded. He has been sighted in the royal courts of Europe, and more recently, in a trailer-park laundromat. This is the story of his last days.
